FOCUS ON EFW ACROSS THE UK

Among the largest EfW schemes in the UK is the £600m W2R project to construct a facility for the shredding and pulverisation of rubber in Wolverhampton, potentially providing electricity to 24,000 homes. Two companies, MVV Umwelt GmbH and Veolia ES Aurora, have been shortlisted for the contract and Staffordshire County Council will select a contractor next summer.rnPlans are at a similar stage for a £150m facility in Lincoln. The plant will handle up to 150,000 tonnes of waste a year and produce as much as 15MW of power. A main contractor will be announced next year.
