Staff at the existing molecular biology laboratory at Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge will surely mourn the loss of the facility that has pro -duced 13 winners of the Nobel Prize for Science in the past five decades. However, the new laboratory will boast enough space for 400 scientists and 200 support staff.rnA concrete frame structure covering 106,608 sq m has been designed with social interaction at the forefront of design, with several meetingrnareas providing a friendly working atmosphere. A steel frame roof structure containing a restaurant with panoramic views will also sit on top of the concrete frame.
