Turnover falls across the top 100

The entries for 27 CNinsight 100 companies have been updated with their latest financial results since the publication of the annual table (CN 8 Sep), leaving the ranking of the top 100 contractors much changed. Combined turnover for the CNinsight 100 now stands at ￡58.7 billion, down from ￡59.4bn in their previous financial years, a decline of 1.1 per cent. But pretax profit across the top 100 contractors has risen by almost 14 per cent, while operating profit is 7 per cent higher. The top 10 still account for almost half the total turnover of all 100 firms. A third of the 27 firms with updated results have seen a fall in turnover according to their latest accounts, including Robertson Construction Group and Harsco Infrastructure Services.
