HSE issues warning over damaged control cables after fatal incident

The Health and Safety Executive is warning owners of pedestrian-controlled tracked plant of the potential for damaged control cables to cause unintended movements. The warning follows investigations into a fatal incident which discovered chaffing of a control cable within a machine led to a worker being trapped by the unexpected movement of a tracked crusher.
