Infrastructure sector is ready to lead the world

This is a very exciting time for UK infrastructure, which has been in the doldrums for the past few years.The strength and depth of the UK industry could be seen at the recent Infrastructure Show at the NEC in Birmingham on 17-19 October this year. The show itself covered all aspects of the industry with talks, discussions and workshops on diverse subjects relevant to infrastructure development across what are often seen as quite distinct sectors. So there were ongoing discussions on the development of the High Speed 2 rail network and power projects to meet the future power needs of the country. Airports, utility providers and road projects were also well represented with attendees presenting on and discussing how the UK can bring its infrastructure development back to the fore.
