Contract awards

Infrastructure awards have grown steadily following a slump in 2009, rising to £122m this year to date, though this is not expected to continue on account of a shortage of large-scale projects in the civil engineering pipeline. Hotels and leisure awards have more than doubled those of 2010 at £73m so far. The offices sector, however, has seen the expected downturn amid little demand outside of London. There is optimism for the regions that work may increase in 2013, when economic recovery is exepcted to emerge.
