The ground engineering sector has taken a battering in recent years. But despite the twin hits of the credit crunch and global economic meltdown, could the sector be finally witnessing the emergence of green shoots? According to the latest figures in the Foundations Market Development report by industry analyst MCI, the sector has spent the last two years clawing back some of the ground it lost in the first three years of the downturn. The figures reveal the UK ground improvement market has pulled back almost £10 million in value from its 2010 low point to stand at £91.lm in 2012.
