Crossrail halted one of its tunnel boring machines as investigations continued this week into the collapse of a hopper at Westbourne Park. CNrevealed last week that the TBM nicknamed 'Ada' was stopped after a hopper, which feeds excavated material into wagons at Westbourne Park, tilted into one of the wagons. While both TBMs had been temporarily stopped and then restarted, the decision was made to halt Ada again, with 'Phyllis' currently tunnelling under Paddington in work that needed to continue due to its sensitive location.
