£1bn Croydon regen approved

The London Borough of Croydon has granted planning permission for Westfield and Hammerson's £lbn redevelopment of the Whitgift Centre in Croydon. The Croydon Partnerships 50:50 joint venture between Westfield and Hammerson,will transform Croydon's town centre with a 1.5m sq ft retail, leisure and restaurant destination under plans first outlined in January. Approval was also granted for the Croydon Partnership's wider 2m sq ft plan to regenerate the town centre.
