BALFOUR BEATTY LANDS £50M SHEFFIELD UNI JOB

Balfour Beatty has been awarded the £50m contract to build Sheffield University's new engineering hub. The contractor is believed to have held off competition from Bam Construct, Bowmer& Kirkland, Interserve, Miller Construction and Sir Robert Me Alpine. Work on the £49.8m construction scheme is expected to begin laterthis year and will form part of the £81m investment being made by the university. The building is expected to be fully operational by 2016.
