BIM gets demystified

Building information modelling continues to be one of the buzz phrases for the industry in 2013, and as the government's deadline to mandate BIM on all projects by 2016 gets ever closer, SMEs need to consider carefully what it means for their business. To help the industry's smaller firms look at the specifics of using BIM, from actual costs to expected outcomes, the BIM Task Group launched the BIM4SME group last month. It aims to show SMEs how BIM can help them to grow their businesses and provides guidance and resources to help SMEs start and develop their BIM offering.
