Barratt Developments is pulling ahead in the race for a 589-home redevelopment on the derelict Catford Greyhound Stadium site in south-east London worth an estimated £50 million, CN understands. The 4.7 ha site, which has full planning permission for 416 houses for open sale, 113 for affordable rent and 60 for shared ownership, has stood empty for almost a decade. It was acquired by English Partnerships - the predecessor to the Homes and Communities Agency - from Network Rail and the National Greyhound Association in 2004.
