Manchester City confirms Etihad Stadium phase

Manchester City Football Club has announced the second phase of its Etihad Stadium expansion, which will take its total capacity to more than 55,000. Laing O'Rourke was appointed as main contractor for the project and started work in March 2014 to add around 6,000 seats to the south stand. A further three rows of seats will now be built at pitchside. Both projects are due to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2015/16 Premier League season.
