Opening the floodgates

The recent flooding in the South-west of England caused a great deal of disruption to residents, cutting off entire communities and ruining homes. Construction sites were also affected, causing work to stop and damage on some sites. The deluge in Somerset echoed the flooding in 2009 affecting Cumbria and the Lake District particularly badly.
