Housing associations to merge

Three of London's largest housing associations are set to merge, with the combined organisations looking to build 100,000 homes over the next decade. L&Q, Hyde Group and East Thames would become one of the largest housebuilders in England, worth an estimated £30bn. Combining forces, the three organisations claim they will be able to build 100,000 new homes across London and the South-east - 35,000 more homes than they could have achieved separately. The trio said the new homes would "represent an investment of £25bn".
