Scape alters model with £5.5bn deal

Scape Group has more than quadrupled the value of its flagship framework, with five separate lots up for grabs worth a combined £5.5bn. The National Construction framework will replace the £1.25bn Major Works framework, which has endured criticism for having Willmott Dixon as its sole contractor since it was first procured in 2005. Scape said the new framework would provide greater choice for its public sector clients, with more bids expected from contractors following the abandonment of the single-firm model.
