Data has been published by The Department of Communities and Local Government showing statistical analysis of fires in completed timber buildings.The results aren't surprising - timber buildings are more susceptible to fire spread than masonry buildings are. During the construction stage of a building project, choosing the right materials is essential in mitigating any fire risk. While proper design is essential, the structural material chosen is incredibly important; non-combustible masonry blocks are a great starting point.
