"We believe in it," says Jan Blaakmeer, manager of research and development at Dutch materials supplier Saint-Gobain Weber Beamix. "That's why we call it the first industrial commercial facility - it's not about trying it out anymore. It's a production location." We're stood in an unassuming unit in an industrial part of Eindhoven, Netherlands, about 5 km west of the city centre. Billed as the first 3D concrete- printing factory in Europe, the facility opened for business on 15 January 2019. Inside the grey interior of the industrial-site unit sit various bits of furniture and odd objects (a chair, a picnic table and a tall cylindrical structure,to name a few),all made of concrete. Nearby is the 3D concrete printer.
