PROJECT OF THE YEAR: BY A SPECIALIST CONTRACTOR (SUBCONTRACT BETWEEN £1M TO £3M)

PHD Modular scooped the award for projects worth between Elm and £3m for its scaffolding work on Elizabeth Tower at the Palace of Westminster, more commonly known as Big Ben. Judges were impressed by the can-do attitude displayed by the specialist contractor, on what was a very challenging project on one of the most iconic and frequently visited tourist attractions in the world. The job involved wrapping the 96 m-tall tower in scaffolding to enable restoration work to be carried out, as well as the installation of a temporary roof.
