In contrast to the last three years within public non-housing and the situation currently facing many of the sectors within construction, public non-housing is expected to enjoy considerable growth over the next three years buoyed by growth within education, health and entertainment sub-sectors. A variety of projects and programmes are expected to boost the sector at a critical time for construction as a whole. However, spending within the sector is contingent upon the government making significant progress towards its often stated targets at a time when public finances are highly constrained. Despite the tight government finances, output and new orders point towards a positive future for the sub-sectors in public non-housing.
