Bobcat has added to its string of equipment launches this year with the introduction of another new compact tracked excavator - the 5.5 tonne E55, previewed at ConExpo, Las Vegas, US, in March. Aimed at the growing 4 to 5 tonne mini-excavator market, the new machine is based on a platform similar to that of the E50 zero tail swing excavator, but has a conventional upper structure. Power comes from a 35.4kW Kubota V2403-M-DI-TE38-BC-4 turbo-charged Tier III diesel engine.
