New Stage IV engine

Agco Power has introduced a new engine, the 225kW, 74 AWF, which complies with the 2014Tier 4 Final emissions laws in the US and Stage IV laws in the EU for off-highway diesel applications. These laws, which are due to come into force in 2014, will take paniculate matter and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions to near-zero levels. The 74 AWF is a 6-cylinder, 7.4 litre engine and uses selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment to adhere to the 2014 emissions laws. Agco Power said all its engines would use SCR to meet the Stage IV/Tier 4 Final laws, but the larger models - the 8.4 litre (6-cylinder), 9.8 litre (7-cylinder) and 16.8 litre (12-cylinder) engines - would also include cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR).
