Trimble has introduced a new version of its Trimble Quantm system for road and rail alignment planning. With version 8 of Quantm, Trimble claimed to continue to provide the most comprehensive planning and costing solution available, with enhancements that offer road and rail designers a more seamless transition from planning to design with greater data integrity. It said that easy data transfer between the Quantm Alignment Planning System and Bentley's OpenRoads software extended the design-to-construction workflow for alignments to include corridor planning in Quantm. In addition, change management and tracking functionality were said to preserve the design intent, and accelerate project delivery with a more seamless transfer of information from planning through design and construction.
