While the EU's objective of protecting people's lives and personal data in electronic communications is obviously a good thing, when it comes to the Internet of Things (loT) on construction sites, the issue looks different and needs to be examined more closely. At present, the proposal of the new EU ePrivacy Regulation requires the special attention of the construction equipment industry in Europe. Its predecessor, the ePrivacy Directive, which dates back to 2002 and gradually became national law in EU countries, became widely known as the Cookie Law, and is the reason why we see cookie-consent popups on many websites now.
