The new ICC Expedited Procedure Provisions

As of 1 March, 2017, the Arbitration Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) include a new Article 30 and Appendix VI containing Expedited Procedure Provisions. Such provisions allow a more agile arbitration procedure with reduced scales of fees, applicable to disputes whose value is less than US$2 million (€1.79 million). By agreeing to have recourse to the ICC Arbitration Rules to resolve their disputes, the parties agree to have the Expedited Procedure Provisions contained in Article 30 and Appendix VI of the ICC Rules to take precedence over any contrary terms contained in the arbitration agreement.
