New rugged controllers

Spectra Precision has announced new additions to its outdoor rugged data collectors, with the introduction of the next generation Ranger 3 series. The company now offers three Ranger 3 models - the 3L, 3XC and 3RC. The new introductions are designed to operate with Spectra Precision Survey Pro field software to optimize mainstream surveying operations. They come with an 800MHz processor, 256MB of memory, a full VGA display, integrated Bluetooth, GPS, compass and 802.11 Wi-Fi. Optional features, depending on the model, include a modem, a 5megapixel camera to enhance data capture routines with images and a 2.4GHz robotic radio module to support robotic total station survey work.
