Tool Inventor Brings Suit Against Snap-on Tool Company

Dan Sullivan, founder of Sullivan Training Systems-specializing in training heavy-equipment technicians-and author of Fundamental Electrical Troubleshooting, was issued a United States patent in 2002 and a European patent in 2006 for a diagnostic tool designed for noninvasive testing of vehicle electrical circuits. The diagnostic tool uses a set of wire leads that works in conjunction with a digital voltmeter to load a circuit and identify wiring faults, without having to pierce wiring insulation. Conventional testers typically require piercing the insulation, a practice that can leave circuits so tested vulnerable to corrosion. Sullivan's patented tool presently is licensed to Electronic Specialties and sold as LOADpro Voltmeter Leads.
