It was an atypical Conexpo this year, as the early effects of the Covid-19 virus hindered handshaking, diminished attendance, and caused one major yellow-iron exhibitor to cancel trips for its personnel; however, exhibitors and attendees alike called the show a success. America's construction professionals were still in a buying mood. Conexpo 2020 also saw the debut of the Festival Grounds, a far-flung area west of the Sahara Hotel and Las Vegas Boulevard, necessitated by the construction of the Las Vegas Convention Center's new West Hall in the former Gold Lot.
