摘要

The objective of this research was to develop a new method for predicting the number of roller passes and degree of compaction of asphalt layer from the perspective of energy. The relationship between the compaction energy density and degree of compaction was quantified using the gyratory compactor. Prediction models for the energy utilization coefficient and the product of rolling resistance coefficient and energy utilization coefficient were established based on a test section. The prediction procedure for the degree of compaction was proposed. Test results showed the predicted results of the degree of compaction are in good agreement with the observations.
