Using their mobile phones, U.S. wireless subscribers have donated close to $40 million, and counting, to emergency aid organizations, all in $5 and $10 increments. In addition to generosity, the disaster in Haiti demonstrated just how comfortable Americans have become with using their mobile phones for small-dollar-amount transactions.
