Home-makeover programs are popular staples among design-hungry TV viewers these days. One such offering on The Learning Channel is the Emmy-nominated While You Were Out, which has frequently featured interior designer Stephen Saint-Onge. With a background in film and TV production design, Saint-Onge segued over time into designing real-life environments for private clients. "It became common for people on the movie sets to ask, 'Can you come over and give me some advice on my home's interior design?'" he explains. Eventually, Saint-Onge came to enjoy creating interior environments that would last longer than a typical set. "I liked the fact that what I had created wouldn't be demolished after two months," he says.
