In an attempt to double cocoa yields, Barry Callebaut is spending €833,000 on a centre of cocoa excellence. The centre, based in Cote d'lvoire, will include training facilities for farmers and a 'showcase farm' to demonstrate state-of-the-art intercropping techniques and other yield enhancement practices such as grafting to rejuvenate ageing cocoa farms and double farm productivity.
