Wrigley to expand Russian confectionery business

Confectionery products of all varieties, particularly jelly sweets, rely on the properties of gums such as pectin, xanthan, locust bean, carrageenan and acacia to give the end product the characteristics the manufacturer desires. Wrigley has announced plans to expand its Russian confectionery business by investing up to RUB1,5 billion ($30m) in the modernisation and expansion of its plant in St Petersburg.
