This year has seen a further reduction in the number of manufacturers of mixer trucks for ready-mixed concrete. The cessation of production already observed in previous years is continuing, as is the takeover of concrete mixer truck companies by large international groups with extensive product ranges covering different lines of construction machinery. Nowadays only the three manufacturers mentioned in this article are still represented in the German mixer truck market - compared with eight 45 years ago! However, the diversity of mixer truck designs on offer is more comprehensive than ever before with respect to mixing drum size, carrier vehicle, country-specific equipment, special designs and high-tech construction components. Such an extensive product range and its support can only be provided by large, economically powerful, companies.
