The objective of specifying construction sealants is to ensure technically acceptable joint-sealing solutions that will contribute to the long-term weatherproofing and waterproofing of structures. The three main tools for the specifier are: 1. Comprehensive specification using BS 6213 Guide to sealant specification 2. Selection of sealants focussed on end use, formulated around best technology, with performance classified to BS ISO 11600 3. A method statement in line with BS 8000: Part 16, as a foundation for best practice installation. A winning combination for low maintenance high-quality sealed joints!
