New developments for ggbs

Twenty years ago, ggbs was virtually unheard of in the UK construction industry. Only 25,000 tonnes a year came from a single source at Scunthorpe. Today the situation is very different; ggbs is widely available and sales have increased 60-fold. It is most commonly used in ready-mixed concrete and major site-batching operations. Replacement level is generally about 50%, but can vary between 20% and 70% of the cementitious content, according to application. One-third of all 'ready-mix' deliveries in Great Britain now contain ggbs.
