The underground station involved rebuilding the station around operational District and Circle Line railways to provide the new ticket hall, new District and Circle Line platforms, and a large underground interchange escalator hall. The escalator hall box - 72m long, 22m wide and 30m below ground - accommodates escalators linking the ticket hall, District and Circle Line and new Jubilee Line tunnels.
