On track in the Murgenthal tunnel, Switzerland

Precise guidance of construc-tion machinery is integral to economic road construction. The development of slipform pavers with computer-controlled guidance systems instead of track wires improve the control that can be achieved. Recently, such a system has been used for the rigid rail track in the Murgenthal tunnel.
