Conflicting requirements for 'firm' pile concrete in secant pile walls

For hard/firm secant pile walls the current position regarding the low-strength concrete firm pile mix design is unsatisfactory. The concrete properties for the female' piles have a large impact on the achievable pile verticality tolerances and there is currently a conflict between the piling contractor's needs and the long-term durability requirements for the engineer's design.
