$62m bridge over Scramento River open to traffic

THE US$62 million Cypress Avenue Bridge has been opened in Redding, California, USA. Lasting four years, the project consisted of widening Cypress Avenue from four to six lanes and replacing two steel girder separate spans with a single 1025ft-long (312m), five-span, (launched, cast-in-place prestressed concrete box-girder bridge. The new iconic structure serves as a gateway to the City of Redding as it spans the Sacramento River and heads west towards City Hall.
