Crack control for basement structures

Three types of waterproofing protection are outlined in BS 8102:2009~((1)); these may be used alone or in combination to suit the requirements of the basement and are defined as follows: 1. Type A (barrier): protection against water ingress, which is dependent on a separate barrier system applied to the structure 2. Type B (structurally integral): protection against water ingress, which is provided by the structure 3. Type C (drained): protection against water ingress into usable spaces, which is provided by the incorporation of an appropriate internal water management system.
