Southwest Florida Grows with Event-Filled Summer

In June, the Southwest Florida (SWF) Chapter hosted a joint meeting with the local American Concrete Institute chapter. Allyn Kilsheimer, PE, KCE Structural Engineers, presented one of the most invigorating programs this area has ever experienced. After the terrorist attacks on the morning of September 11, 2001, Kilsheimer was called to the Pentagon to begin emergency stabilization, recovery assistance, and damage assessment. Three days later he was asked to be in charge of the reconstruction effort, which finished 11 months ahead of schedule and under budget.
