The idea originated in far-way Australia: To make intentionally rustic-looking types of masonry bricks and concrete pavers to give the touch of a building material aged from history. The surface texture and colors of these industrially produced, and hence most cost favorable, masonry bricks are a reminder of the hand-molded bricks that once prevailed in Australia before all but disappearing from the market because of the high costs to manufacture these manually.
