The contemporary garden is a place of relaxation and rest. Therefore, clients wish to have patios and garden paths that are easy to clean and require little maintenance. The DIN 18318 revised in 2007 provides no information on the bound construction method. The following article concerns itself with the application and implementation of bound bases and joints in accordance with the current state of knowledge and gives advice on damage prevention.%Der zeitgemäße Garten versteht sich als Ort der Entspannung und der Ruhe, Bauherren wünschen sich daher pflegeleichte, wartungsfreie Terrassen und Gartenwege. Die in 2007 überarbeitete DIN 18318 enthält nun keine Hinweise mehr zur gebundenen Bauweise. Der Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Anwendung und Umsetzung von gebundenen Tragschichten und Fugen gemäß den aktuellen Kenntnissen und gibt Ratschläge zur Schadensprävention.
