Construction Loads on Slabs with Shored Formwork in Multistory Buildings

The authors have refrained from extending their analysis to the evident practical conclusions, namely: 1. Shoring for all slabs should be designed for an overload of at least 50 percent, as compared with the design for the corresponding falsework structure supporting each slab; and 2. The requirement of the "ACI Standard Recommended Practice for Concrete Formwork (ACI 347-63)" that temporary loads on slabs not exceed design loads can be met only by designing for such temporary loads.
