Free trade agreements between the US and countries throughout Central America should provide the catalyst for further growth in containerised cargo flows. Trade between the US and Central America has grown steadily on the back of strong his-torical ties between the regions and a raft of trade liberalisation measures, which are about to be given a further boost by the full implementation of the Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (DR-CAFTA).
