When Royal P&O Nedlloyd was acquired by the AP Moller-Maersk Group last year, everyone's attention immediately focused on how the mighty ocean carrier giants P&O Nedlloyd (PONL) and Maersk Sealand would be combined. That the two were eventually merged into Maersk Line is old news now, but what is less well-known is that not everything moved that way.
