摘要

Maersk Line has further rationalised its Europe-Middle East/South Asia (ME1 and ME3) service offerings as the economic climate bites harder into traffic volumes and overall operating performance.rnThe carrier has added Aqaba (Jordan) and Bandar Abbas (Iran) calls to the ME1 service and phased into the link an additional 6.400TEU vessel to maintain schedule reliability.rnMeanwhile, the Omani port of Salalah, Jeddah and Aqaba have been removed from the ME3 service. This latest move followsrnMaersk's recent decision to suspend its FM5 service between the Far East and Red Sea.rnNikolaj Levin, the carrier's senior general manager (Europe-Middle East/South Asia services), said: 'In today's challenging and highly competitive market, we believe it is essential to maintain focus on our customers and their business needs and this is what these adjustments set out to do.'
