KPA pro-activity pays off in Mombasa

Kenya's Port Authority (KPA) claims that Mombasa's productivity has risen significantly this year due to successful implementation of its action plans. More truck lanes at the main gates have been opened, which, according to Sudi Mwasinago, Mombasa's head of container operations, has resulted in an average of 1,400 containers leaving the port each day, a significant improvement on the 800-900TEU/ day that were being processed in late 2011/early 2012.
