Diego Aponte promoted to MSC president and CEO

Mediterranean Shipping Co announced that Diego Aponte had been appointed chief executive and president in October. Previously vice president, he took over from his father Gianluigi Aponte who founded the shipping line in the 1970s. "It is important that we keep looking forward and that we prepare the company for the future," said Gianluigi Aponte who will assume a new role as group executive chairman and continue to oversee all group related activities whilst helping his son shape the future of MSC.
